Total Eclipse Of My Heart

Like every girl on the planet, I'm in love with the Twilight Saga. So it's no surprise that the girls and I headed out to the theater last Thursday night to see Eclipse. It has pretty much become our tradition - make a date, have some cocktails (yea happy hour!!!), then watch the movie. Not only do I get to spend quality time with my gals, but I get to drool over the boys (hey, it's my only free pass okay?!)!!

And I have to say, I really liked the movie this time. Here's why:

Hot Boys - need I say more? I was happy to see another yummy boy added to the Saga - Riley!!!! (too bad he got chomped by a werewolf)
Jasper and Rosalie's backstories were incorporated. FINALLYYYYYY we got backstories!!!!!
The Tent Scene - I was dying to see how this would turn out in real life because it was super steamy in the book!
Action, action, action! - Since we never get to see fangs in the Twilight Saga, it was kind of cool to at least see the vamps and werewolves fight. A girls gotta have a little danger!
The New Victoria: Brice Dallas Howard - Let's face it, I wanted to compare her to Rachelle Lefevre (don't lie, you did too). Don't get me wrong, Brice made her vamp look a little scary at times, but I missed Rachelle. Maybe it's because I read the books after Twilight came out, so I pictured her while I was reading the books.

All in all, the movie was fabulous - way better than the last two. In fact, I managed to see it twice over the weekend. *giggle* Eclipse has amped me up for Breaking Dawn. And you can bet that the girls and I won't be breaking tradition for that one. LOL

Oh yea one last thing, I forgot to mention that I bought the Eclipse Soundtrack as well. Those that have been following me on Twitter know what I thought - that it was just okay. I guess I was expecting more growth on this one or perhaps a different direction. As I was listening to the album, it reminded me a lot of the New Moon soundtrack. Even though I absolutely adore many of the artists on the Eclipse album - Florence + The Machine, The Bravery, Sia, Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses, Metric - it still held that NM vibe for me. Oh well. Its worth a listen for you music lovers out there, Heavy In Your Arms and My Love are my favorite songs, so check those out first.

Groove Armada Black Light

I just went to an album preview party for this at the W hotel in SF. Didn't hear a song off this album, which is a shame because it is awesome! I adore 80's synth pop so maybe that's why I love this album so much. Check out 'Paper Romance' - it rocks!

Timbaland Shock Value II

I'm loving the beats and the collaborations on this album. All the songs are fab and my faves are 'Lose Control', 'Meet in Tha Middle' and 'Can you Feel It'. My only wish is that I could permanently delete the Miley Cyrus tune. In any case, this is a great party album - there's a song for everyone.

bt These Hopeful Machines

I can't stop listening to this. It reminds me so much of his music from Movement In Still Life and R&R. But this sounds more grown up. I'm loving all the beats and sounds that he's perfectly placed throughout the album. bt you've captured my heart once again.

Okay, okay I know what you are sayin' - this song is popular, that's why you like it. But truth be told, its not because I've heard it so many times. It's because it gets my booty shakin' every time I hear that "BOOM BOOM POW"! And the fast electronic beat at the end makes me a happy girl. So DJ's, if you want the floor packed with dancin' ladies - play this song. It's guaranteed fun.

I can't seem to stop listening to Stanton Warriors Sessions Volume III. I know it was released in 2008, but after seeing them live at Mezzanine SF a month ago - I'm still hooked! They played a ton of songs from this album and had me dancin' all night long. So much so that even the teensiest muscles in my hands hurt the next day. And no, I wasn't the one doing the crazy handstands.

Their music has me movin' n shakin' like Tom Cruise in Risky Business minus the tighty whities. Check out some of the songs I had on replay: Club Action, Shifting Gears, Raw Meat / Blow The Whistle and Beggin'.

Like any good party host, I'm always on the lookout for an entertaining, fun game that helps people easily interact with each other. Nothing stressful, just lighthearted fun. I'm usually not into games at parties, but Partini looks to be super easy and effortless. So much so that I think it would be amusing to play when kicking back with friends. With it's musical humming challenges, molding clay objects and firing balls into a cup games...who could go wrong? I'm definitely adding this to my Christmas list. Now, if I could just convince Santa to take me off the naughty list....

Halloween is my favorite holiday

It really is. Perhaps it's because I get to pretend I'm someone else for a day, or maybe it's because I think the costumes are so darn cute. Either way, it gives me something to look forward to every year. I was so excited when I saw this Lady Luck costume from Leg Avenue, I had to buy it. With me missing Vegas so much, I wanted to wear this in honor of my Sin City! I have to say, Vegas is really the BEST place on earth for Halloween. Where else can you show off your fun sexy costume without being exposed to the freezing cold weather outside? Casinos are the best for strutting your stuff. I miss you Vegas - maybe next year!

Halloween is also a great time to check out any fun haunted houses, festivals and DJs. Man I wish I could attend all of these events - so many places, so little time.

Is it wrong to have a Smash My BlackBerry party?

I need a new BlackBerry like no one's business. Like I need my right arm. That's how important it is. Right now my little junker's roller ball stops working randomly, times out or simply turns off when it feels like it. So I have been patiently dealing with it. Up until the last couple weeks - that's when the gorilla banging, Naomi style throws began. Well, maybe just the gorilla banging. I haven't gotten to the Naomi thing quite yet and I hope not to. Why haven't I gotten a new one you ask? Well I'm trying to hold out for the new BlackBerry Bold 9000 from AT&T. But it seems like it keeps getting delayed and now it may be FOREVER before it becomes released. So my only solace in this whole ordeal is to look forward to a Smash My BlackBerry party. There must be others going through the same situation as me, so I know we can all throw our phones in the mix and S-M-A-S-H them Office Space style! It's going to make me soooooooo happy!!!!

Don't worry, you all are invited. Just know that the party will happen as soon as BlackBerry Bold hits the stores!

UPDATE: My prayers have been answered. The BB Bold from AT&T should be coming out Nov 4th!!!!! So I guess I will be having that party sooner rather than later!
